Received a call from Frank last night saying he's now at Leavenworth (taking the long way to Yankton, apparently). As usual, don't know how long he'll be there. Here's the address:

Hello,
Fr. Frank called us at the Worker and says all is well. Fr. Jack McClure has been able to visit him and share Eucharist. Fr Frank is having bible study with his cell mate and there is also some rumor about a cheeseburger!

Frank phoned to say he is in the Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs, IA. He has no way of knowing if he'll be there one night or six months.

Results of today's hearings at Omaha Federal Court House:
Ed Bloomer was sentenced to 30 days with $200 fine and 1 year probation. He will self-report approximately April 1 to a facility near Des Moines (yet to be named).
Fr. Frank was sentenced to 6 months beginning immediately with no fine imposed. We will notify you of his whereabouts asap.

Regarding: Trial and Sentencing of DM Catholic Workers Fr Frank Cordaro and Ed Bloomer
Where: Federal Court House, 111 So 18th Plaza, Omaha NE
When: Wednesday March 6, 2002
Two Des Moines Catholic Workers, Fr Frank Cordaro and Ed Bloomer will appear in Federal Magistrate Courts in Omaha NE Wednesday March 6th for charges stemming from an August 9, 2001 nuclear weapons protest at the U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue NE.
Mr Bloomer will appear before Federal Magistrate Judge Thomas Thalken at 9 a.m. on Wednesday March 6th for sentencing. Mr Bloomer is returning to court for sentencing, having plead no contest and been found guilty of violating a pass ban and bar letter last month. This is Mr Boomerıs first time before the court for this charge.
Fr Cordaro will appear before Federal Magistrate Judge Kathleen Jaudzemis at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 6th for trial. Fr Cordaro intends to enter a plea of no contest. He expects to be found guilty and sentenced on the same day. Fr Cordaro has served five previous six month prison sentences for similar charges in Omaha and expects to be sentenced to the maximum prison sentence of six months.
