Michele sends word
Somewhere in the pipeline (writing about her sentencing by Judge Rebecca Smith):
I fully expected her to start by threatening everyone since at our sentencing she locked up the entire courtroom (including the shipyard folks and prosecutors) when supporters began to sing...But...she only yelled at me once during testimony...Ramsey [Clark] was great. I think the stenographer was crying. I was. It was harder for me to hear nice things than for me to be chastised by Rebecca. I cried when the prosecutor argued for my release at the detainment hearing. He came a long way from the original court hearings... [An editorial in the daily paper] ended by stating "the Federal government should stop using probation as a tool to limit dissent."
Michele is still in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail but may be moved any day. Until her whereabouts are certain, please send mail to her care of:
Jonah House
1301 Moreland Av
Baltimore MD 21216
When Michele finally gets to a fed prison, please send her an occasional
money order for supplies and phone contact.
