Burma Imprisons British Activist

Rangoon: Human rights activist Rachel Goldwyn was arrested in Burma in mid-September and sentenced to seven years' hard labor in Insein Jail.  She was charged with "endangering peace stability and security" for singing the revolutionary song 'We Will Never Forget' in a market in Rangoon.

A committed activist, Rachel faces risks of malaria and torture in Burmese jail. Support letters might be sent to the Burmese ambassador in London, calling on him to urge his colleagues in Burma to have Rachel released:

James Mawdsley has been imprisoned for 17 years for pro-democracy campaigning. And of course thousands of Burmese remain in prison for their struggle and millions have been burnt and beaten and exiled from their homes.
