Dear Friends of the Omaha Catholic Worker,

Just reminder and invitation for Mass and Potluck on Thursday Dec 14 at 6:00 pm. The Feast Day of St. John of the Cross.

Fr. Lee Lubbers SJ will be with us.

Also we are now a Catholic Worker community of 3 people: Jerry Ebner, Joe Mehalovich and Jim Elliot . That makes it the three J's. That ryhmes with "Blue Jays" . Someone can make a better joke out of that than me, I think. Oh well.

Jim just arrived on Greyound Bus on Saturday morning from Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Christmas Story often tells us that there was " No room in the Inn" for Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We at the OCW have a 2 rooms in the INN, here and No guests. I have contacted by mail and phone calls and some personal visits to agencies in Omaha asking for any referrals. I have handed out leaflets to many downtown. Still no response.

Please pray that God send to us " angels and ambassadors of God", the poor, that Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin spoke of. I would greatly appreciate any help in contacting other agencies or people about our vacancy. If you'd like, please make a phone call to any agency in Omaha that helps homeless men. Please give them our phone number and email address. This week, I will be calling again on some places and people.

The Benefit Concert with Michael Murphy and Steve Jacobs was a delight and the party afterwards was as well. I did win a lot more money at penny poker with Joe and Steve Jacobs late that night. Thanks so much for all of you who attended and helped with the arrangements.
