A message
from the OCW for you
Dear Friends of the Omaha
Catholic Worker,
Today is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Today we pray for peace, in our hearts, our lives, our city.
We at the OCW, also pray that all military people try the nonviolence of Jesus
and Francis of Assisi, drop their weapons, come home, and seek other nonviolent
useful work for justice.
We do imagine a world in peace and justice.
Lord, make us instruments of your peace
Where there is hatred, let us so love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
